carbonviolence.org is a website dedicated to shedding light on the darker side of green, by detailing some of the adverse social, economic and environmental impacts of global plantation forestry and carbon offset projects. The research presented on this site aims to inform you about Green Resources operations in Uganda. The research included on this site has been funded by the Australian Research Council, and undertaken by academic researchers based at The University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology.  This work has been published by the Oakland Institute, and is supported by the National Association of Professional Environmentalists – NAPE (Uganda).

carbonviolence.org focuses on plantation forestry and carbon market activities undertaken in Uganda by a company called Green Resources. Green Resources is a forestry plantation company registered in Norway. To find out more about Green Resources and its links to Uganda, you can read this post: About Green Resources.

Oakland Institute report

On November 4, 2014, the Oakland Institute published a report called, The Darker Side of Green: Plantation Forestry and Carbon Violence in Uganda – the case of Green Resources’ forestry-based carbon markets
